Sammy Sosa: Free as a Bird

Written by Paul Hauss - March 6, 2016

Ever wonder what drove Sammy Sosa to take such a quantity of extremely similar pictures? Very seldom do days pass where such a thought is not at the forefront of our minds here at Sammy Sosa's Playhouse, so we dug a little deeper. For every pose of his, there are multiple photos with slight variation in his facial expression. We found he tends to transition from youthfully playful to serious and (in his delightfully egotistic mind) seductive, utilizing every point between two extremes. Why? It's a signature of photo-ops done by popstars to get pre-pubescent girls to drop a couple bucks on a magazine, so we drew the natural connection between Sammy Sosa and the original Fab Four, the Beatles.

What if Sammy has had a feeling deep inside to join a Beatles cover band, but he's always been forced to hide his love away? Understandable, as everybody's got something to hide except for me and my monkey. Any bird can sing, so why not Sammy Sosa? I say we, all together now, come together encourage Sammy to be as free as a bird and let him take us down where nothing is real. He's been suppressing himself for so long he's got to carry that weight a long time. It's a long and winding road, and we ought to let Sammy do it in the road. The ice is slowly melting, and it's been so long since it's been clear and I say to Sammy, it's all right..

When covering British psychedelic rock and merseybeat from the 60s is too vanilla for Sammy Sosa, he steps it up to experimental progressive rock from the aughts.

Sammy Sosa's Playhouse is proud to present a sneak preview of Sammy's upcoming prog project, The Mars Sosa.
